I like how every so often, I'll see news article in google news that are literally 'how to play [insert emulator]'. I thought the media was supposed to DISCOURAGE piracy.

In college, they actually teach you how piracy can positively effect business sales.

Emulators aren't illegal. If you own the game on disk and download a few programs you can easily extract the game content off the disk and make an ISO file, which you can then use in an emulator. That's completely legal as you own the game. It only becomes illegal when you start downloading game ISO files off the internet.

Actually, Emulation is completely legal - even if you don't own the game. The law [At least from what I've seen] is that you have to delete it within 24 hours.
What's illegal, though, is downloading it, and then making copies of it to sell/distribute to other people. THAT'S when it becomes piracy.
