I don't think the 0 seconds people are hackers, it usually takes at least 3 minutes for all of the trophies to ding, judging by the many, MANY Socom hackers.
Trophy tips written for: Arkedo 01 - Jump!, Battlefield 1943, Beat Hazard Ultra, Crash Commando, DJ Hero, Frogger Returns (US), (EU), (JP), Gravity Crash, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Mega Man 10, Start the Party!, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, Truth or Lies, Tumble, Welcome Park.

Unfortunately there are other ways by now. It's even possible to edit timestamps nowadays, so you might be able to make your hacked Socom plat look legit. Moreover, the trophies for every game can be 'hacked', even those with copy protected save files

Bloody hell, I hope this isn't a result of the custom firmware, and I hope that Sony can and will fix this.

Actually, the first 5 achievers couldn't have done that, since the game was released on March 9th (I think).
They would have bought the Japanese version which was released a few months before the US version.
