I'd think finally a valid reason to change my PSN name. I don't really like my current one (ille1234) :P

I voted other.....I would probably do alot of things. I would wonder what the hell happened, I would call Sony and ask WTF is going on. I would keep my PS3 and keep playing it, but I may give the 360 a shot. Other than that if I had no chance at recovering my trophies I have no clue what I would do. I would probably be in shock as I have spent thousands of hours getting trophies.

Now see, it is comments like that which I don't get. Maybe becasue I am an old bastard, who knows.

I too have spent thousands of hours...not getting trophies, but playing, enjoying, interacting and having fun with my games. The trophies are just a fun extra as a result of said enjoyment. I find it odd how many could so easily forget the great times they had playing a game or games based on their trophy count alone.

For example, I started playing Fallout 3 before the trophy patch. With well over 170 hours in this game, there is not a single trophy to show for it. That does not mean all those hours and fun are just forgot about or have no meaning becasue there I have no trophies to show for it. Same with Oblivion, which has no trophy support at all. This game also has well over 200 hours invested into it. Those were great, fun and enjoyable hours...and I do not need trophies to remind me of that.

I can see your point, and you are right, games used to be fun even without trophies, but since the addition of trophies, a game is not complete until I have every one for a game. Following that thought process, I have alot of "unfinished" games, but to me trophies are milestones of my progress and represent my achievments and time spent in games/skill. Thus a game without trophies does not have alot of meaning to me anymore. I feel sad about it in a way, but there is no turning back now, at least in my opinion.

I'd probably end up not playing as much as I used to. I'd still play on the hardest difficulty and stuff in my games for fun but I'd feel like I'm not doing anything really... I'd get angry though and just move on B)

i would get really mad because there are some trophies that i worked really hard to get and for the most part i play games through once and then not touch it again which means that i would not get a big chunk of my trophies back ever. after that i would probably stop being a trophy hunter and just play games for fun and not give a rats ass about the extra stuff to do in game unless i enjoy the game a lot

well the games would be bored to play again to be all 100% or not (FUCKIN DLC'S) but some games I just could play them because I got them from friends, from PS+ and the games are not free anymore, but well just play the games again, that's a normal day to trophy hunter, but with this shit in the PS3 :(

I agree with you I play the games I have in PS2 still, but in PS3 we finish the story, like the other consoles, but we still have the trophies, wich if we going for them we will enjoy the game for much time like for me, I asked a friend to borrow me Skyrim, and after 3/4 days I made the story of the Dragonborn, but there was so much trophies so I played not only 3/4 days in the begining of may, but I played for over 2 months, until middle of July. That's just an example. I just enjoy the games until I got everything, in game (some have new levels, new things to unlock like weapons, costumes) and in trophies until I got the platinum trophy since I can go for DLC trophies (FUCK YOU DLC)

I'd be pretty sad for a while, I put up a lot of stress in my life speedrunning some platinums to get onto the fastest leaderboards. I bought and imported many games for trophies. But later I'd realize trophies never really meant anything in the real world, so I'd have to get over it and it would be for the better in the end.

Think Final Fantasy XIII. Curl into a ball and cry. Now THAT'S a game I'd have wasted over 120+ hours of gameplay and grinding for nothing. Same with ModNation Racers.
I wouldn't care if it's other games though. I'd just replay them.

But I wouldn't consider that "wasted" because I actually enjoyed that. I also put 140 hours into Resonance of Fate and about to put quadruple that in Star Ocean.

I feel as long as you're still enjoying your games, not your trophies, then you are set. Trophies are a nice little addition to gaming, but the game itself is what keeps me coming back. I would be upset at first, but I voted that I would be able to earn the trophies again for the games I love. ^_^

My first thoughts would be wondering what I may or may not have broke for that to happen and secondly I'd be a bit annoyed since it'd be like having to replay games again to re-earn all the unlockables due to someone deleting a save file... I'd just be so annoyed as it'd mean having to do all of that again despite the fact they're games I enjoyed having to play them again to show what I have done instead of playing those I was yet to finish, I'd just feel a little cheated and probably go play my PS2 and PSP for a while before getting back into them after starting a whole new PSN account.

I would feel like I wasted all my time for the trophies that I actually had to go through a ton of annoying stuff and difficulty for. But other than that I would be relieved and I wouldn't probably attempt at getting anymore trophies. My trophy achieving mainly started after I made a new account but I didn't want to lose the trophies from the old account and so I stuck with the old one. I'd probably just play games completely for the fun of it instead of trophies. I'd also wonder why it happened but could your trophies really disappear from both online and your ps3? A question certainly.. still I think life would be better without trophies in my opinion, though they are nice.

I'd probably just scream bloody murder for an hour day and then go back to the days when I played games just to play them. Which means that I will end up not doing most of the bonus fun in almost every game and I'll probably have to get a new hobby as well since trophy hunting is my primary hour killer.

As much as i like my trophy list, if it did go it would give me a chance to change my name. Its not like i dont like my name, just i would change it to a more relevent name, I dont smoke anymore lol.

But it would annoy me for a while that my list was gone, but it wouldnt stop me doing everything in a game, cause i did that anyway on PS1, and PS2 games.

Before I would be frustated, but now I want that to happen because I have 22 games out of 36 I can play because my PS+ subscription expired and now that games (and a couple of others like call of duty balck zombies, nfs shift, LBP1) I will not play them again.

Not much I would be able to do about it. I'd do an internet search to see if there were any solutions. If I figured out that there was no solution i'd say, "well that sucks." Then I'd continue with whatever I was doing. It's not really a big deal. I probably wouldn't go back and redo all my games. I may redo Enslaved and the GoW games. Maybe a few others. Can't redo MSPR now since the servers will be shut down soon.

Like others before me, I would sit there and wonder what I broke..see if there was a solution. I admit I would get really upset. Almost as much as I did when my lil sister saved over my Tony Hawk Pro Skater profile on my ps1. Needless to say I made her cry! After awhile of frustration and probably some crying.. I would take a break and then pick up a game and try and get back into gaming. I haven`t invested that much time into my profile but, these are all games I have spent some time getting into and enjoying.
