I would probably be in shock as I have spent thousands of hours getting trophies.
Now see, it is comments like that which I don't get. Maybe becasue I am an old bastard, who knows.
I too have spent thousands of hours...not getting trophies, but playing, enjoying, interacting and having fun with my games. The trophies are just a fun extra as a result of said enjoyment. I find it odd how many could so easily forget the great times they had playing a game or games based on their trophy count alone.
For example, I started playing Fallout 3 before the trophy patch. With well over 170 hours in this game, there is not a single trophy to show for it. That does not mean all those hours and fun are just forgot about or have no meaning becasue there I have no trophies to show for it. Same with Oblivion, which has no trophy support at all. This game also has well over 200 hours invested into it. Those were great, fun and enjoyable hours...and I do not need trophies to remind me of that.

I can see your point, and you are right, games used to be fun even without trophies, but since the addition of trophies, a game is not complete until I have every one for a game. Following that thought process, I have alot of "unfinished" games, but to me trophies are milestones of my progress and represent my achievments and time spent in games/skill. Thus a game without trophies does not have alot of meaning to me anymore. I feel sad about it in a way, but there is no turning back now, at least in my opinion.

I agree with you I play the games I have in PS2 still, but in PS3 we finish the story, like the other consoles, but we still have the trophies, wich if we going for them we will enjoy the game for much time like for me, I asked a friend to borrow me Skyrim, and after 3/4 days I made the story of the Dragonborn, but there was so much trophies so I played not only 3/4 days in the begining of may, but I played for over 2 months, until middle of July. That's just an example. I just enjoy the games until I got everything, in game (some have new levels, new things to unlock like weapons, costumes) and in trophies until I got the platinum trophy since I can go for DLC trophies (FUCK YOU DLC)

Think Final Fantasy XIII. Curl into a ball and cry. Now THAT'S a game I'd have wasted over 120+ hours of gameplay and grinding for nothing. Same with ModNation Racers.
I wouldn't care if it's other games though. I'd just replay them.
But I wouldn't consider that "wasted" because I actually enjoyed that. I also put 140 hours into Resonance of Fate and about to put quadruple that in Star Ocean.
I feel as long as you're still enjoying your games, not your trophies, then you are set. Trophies are a nice little addition to gaming, but the game itself is what keeps me coming back. I would be upset at first, but I voted that I would be able to earn the trophies again for the games I love.

But it would annoy me for a while that my list was gone, but it wouldnt stop me doing everything in a game, cause i did that anyway on PS1, and PS2 games.
