Turbo Tax might just be the worst game I've ever played!

This game has some pretty serious (and fairly well known) glitches that can essentially halt you from progressing any further. I, unfortunately, experienced both of these during my quest for the :platinum: so I thought I would share some of my experiences to help you avoid the same.

Glitch #1 - Missions (most likely)
This glitch involves missions not unlocking. In other words, you get to a certain point in the game and upon completion of a mission, no other missions unlock :( This renders your current playthrough unfinishable and you must start over.

At this point, you have 2 options:
You can reload an earlier save and try again. You may get lucky enough to have it unlock... very doubtful though.
You restart the story from the very beginning.

Glitch #2 - New Game +
This glitch involves New Game + not unlocking upon successful completion of the campaign. I believe this is closely related to the 1st glitch. Follow the solution provided there and you should have no problems. Unfortunately, if you experience this one, you will definitely have to start over from the beginning and try again.

Solution
First and foremost there is no magic and no tricks involved. If you experienced the glitch playing through the story for the 1st time and have just been enjoying yourself doing missions as they come up and grinding out the collectibles... the short answer is you are screwed and must start over. Sorry, that's the facts; fortunately you are not alone and the story is only about 6 hours long if you rush it. However, if you have been keeping save files after each mission, you may be in luck though :o See below.

Second, you will want to be Save File happy (just to be absolutely sure). If you want to be over-the-top, create a New Save after every mission. Otherwise, just pay attention to the missions that pop up in game. Whenever you have a choice of 2 missions, make a New Save and leave it alone for the rest of the playthrough. You can then keep 1-2 "working saves" that you alternate between for all other missions. This way, if anything happens, you can resort back to these pivotal points in the story. I have done the below order/process successfully 2 times now... so I can verify that it works. My 1st playthrough I was not paying attention and just completing missions. Well, I ended up doing a Father Guerra mission before a Sabrina mission and never noticed that the S mission never came back up. On my 2nd attempt, I ended up playing missions I had not seen before on my 1st run.

I found the issue lies with the order in which you complete the missions. The vast majority of the missions that come your way are one-at-a-time and you don't have to worry about it though... there are 5 instances where you will have to choose a mission throughout the story; they are noted in Blue below; the number is just the choice number that mission falls under (i.e. 1 = 1st time you have to choose):

You may receive missions from any of the following characters:
  • Father Luis Guerra - [G]
  • Colonel Douglas Rooks - [R]
  • Dr. Anton Koeng - [K]
  • Sabrina Galloway - [S]
  • Dana Mercer - [M]
Whenever you have a choice where Sabrina has a mission for you, do that mission before any others. The very 1st choice - during the Yellow Zone - you will want to do Colonel Rook's mission before Father Guerra's.

Yellow Zone Missions
  • Getting Started
  • Escape
  • Religious
  • The Strong Survive
  • Operation Fly Trap
  • Blacknet Operation Orions Belt
  • Brain Drain
  • Project Long Shadow
  • Feeding Time 1 [G]
  • Salvation
  • Lab Rat 1 [R]
  • The Mad Scientist
  • Orion Phase 2
  • Natural Selection
  • The Air Bridge / Enemies and Allies
Green Zone Missions
  • A Stranger Among Us 2 [S]
  • A Nest of Vipers 3 [S]
  • The White Light 2-3 [G]
  • Taking the castle
  • A Maze of Blood
  • Alpha Wolf
  • Fall From Grace
  • The Descent
Red Zone Missions
  • Buried From Memory
  • Last Resort
  • Fly in the Ointment 4 [S]
  • Operation Firehawk 5 [S]
  • Divine Intervention 4-5 [R]
  • Lost in the System
  • A Labor of Love
  • Murder Your Maker
I will recommend you play through on Easy first though. Hard mode is not difficult at all if you are on a New Game + (upgraded from a previous playthrough). It is noticeably more difficult if you are starting out on Hard.

Well, I hope this helps somebody save a bunch of time as I ended up playing through the story 3-4 times. Good luck!

I must have been very lucky then.

I've completed it on both 360 & PS3 and thought it ran flawlessly on both systems.

Didn't this come out earlier this year? Why do Amazon and some other places have it releasing in July/August? Is that for Steam or something?
