Fare Thee Well Kill Charon, the Ferryman |
![]() |
The first time you fight Charon, you are defeated because it's a story fight. But when you return, you have the handy Zeus Gauntlet to take on The Ferryman. Charon's first stage is simple- he attack you with his Scythe and occasionally stops and launches green orbs at you. When he uses this spell, either roll around them, or parry them back at Charon. In combat, the best move to use against him is Tartarus Rage (L1 Triangle), if you have maximized Blades Of Chaos. Charon will jump to the top of the boat to heal, and when he does, break down a pillar. Charon returns with a new power, Charon's Wrath. This shoots a green flame, engulfing Kratos in fire. Evade this, because it's powerful. Break another pillar after downing Charon. Charon's next stage gives him the ability to create a green damage field, similar to the Efreet. Roll out of this. Once again, break a pillar. Complete a QTE to nail Charon to the wall, and when he returns, jump attack him and finish him with |

Swing Batter Cause the Basilisk to retreat |
![]() |
| The Basilisk is the first boss in the game, and has some pretty basic moves. He attacks you with his teeth, and shoots a flamethrower from his mouth. Roll to avoid the flame thrower, and attack him with the basic combos from the Blades Of Chaos and he'll be downed. Then, simply complete the Quick Time Event to send the Basilisk running. | ||||

Dead Beat Dad Push away Calliope |
![]() |
In the Fields Of Elysium, Kratos realizes he must sacrifice his happiness to protect the world, and his daughter. Calliope isn't that thrilled to lose her father a second time. You must complete a lengthy Quick Time Event to break Calliope's death grip on your leg. |

Tree Hugger Sacrifice powers |
![]() |
After reaching Persephone's dwelling, Kratos must sacrifice his powers to enter Elysium and find his long lost daughter. It's rather demoralizing to lose all your upgraded powers (which, if you're like me, you're fully upgraded by now). Latch on to the tree and complete a series of difficult Quick Time Events to proceed, and earn the trophy. |

Hades Needs a New Wife Kill Persephone |
![]() |
Persephone is the final boss in the game, arguably the hardest. In the first stage, Persephone will kick up boulders and toss them at Kratos. Roll away from them and hit her on her blind sides with the Zeus Gauntlet (make sure it's fully upgraded). The Blades don't do much against her, but the Gauntlet does. Try Olympic Thunder (L1 Triangle) after a double jump over the boulders. In her next stage, Persephone is on the broken pillars, and shoots Charon-esque energy balls at Kratos, in addition to a sweeping energy beam that's devastating. Reflect the energy balls with the Sun Shield and dodge the energy beam with double jumps or rolls. When she is knocked from her perch, attack her. After enough damage, she changes pillars and begins sending beams of energy down on you from the sky. Evade these at all costs. Continue to reflect her energy balls. Repeat this process until she is on the ground, kneeling. Then, stand in the sun and use the Sun Shield to finish her off, Hel |

Morpheus Defeated Push flaming cart to the top |
![]() |
Morpheus is not actually a boss, and the name of the trophy is misleading. After entering Marathon, you will have to ignite a cart of hay with a nearby torch to break through Morpheus' fog. There will be 2 archers barring your way, simply kill them with a quick strike from the Blades Of Chaos and continue. When the cart is pushed all the way to the temple (which takes about 30 seconds) you'll unlock the trophy. |

Sometime in Attica, probably after you defeat the Cyclops, you will have enough Red Orbs to upgrade you're Blades Of Chaos. Go to the start menu and fill up the meter by holding X over the Blades to upgrade them. The Blades are the best weapon in every God Of War game, so pumping them up will help you later on. |

BOOOOOOOM!!! Kill the Basilisk |
![]() |
The Basilisk is the first major boss battle in the game. He's simple to kill, however. The Basilisk has 2 major attacks- a bite, and a flamethrower. In the start of the fight, the Basilisk will attack with his bite, which does little damage. Either block or roll to avoid it. The problem is that the point of the fight is to back the basilisk to the wall behind him- and if you are hit by the flamethrower, you are knocked back and have to re-do a segment. When he uses his flamethrower, use the Efreet magic to counter it, and you won't be knocked back. Occasionally, the Basilisk will bite Kratos and you will need to perform a QTE to get out of it. This is good, because it grants health and magic orbs. When the Basilisk is backed against the wall, you can perform a QTE to finish it. He'll launch fireballs from the wall, and you need to avoid them. You have to finish this QTE event 3 times to kill the Basilisk, and the fight is the same each time. When Kratos breaks his jaw, |

Persian History X Kill the Persian King |
![]() |
The Persian King is a very simple boss to kill. The Persian attacks with his sword and has minions to help him out. Simply attack him like you normally would. Use the Cyclone Of Chaos combo (L1 Square) to 'crowd control' his minions. When he is below half health, the Persian will begin using the Efreet against you. Roll away from it to avoid it, and come back at him with the Plume Of Prometheus (Square Square Triangle) for damage. Once he is out of health, perform a Quick Time Event to finish him off. |

Chain Gang Break the Chains of Tartarus |

After getting his ass kicked by Charon, Kratos find himself in the depths of Tartarus. Chains, if you haven't noticed, mean nothing to the Ghost Of Sparta. Rapidly tap L1 R1 to break the chains and get back to work. Seriously, what jail lets an inmate in with all his weapons? |

Almost There⦠Running across the long chain |
![]() |
After moving Hyperion, you will reach an area with many chains and 2 gears. Jump on the first gear and begin cranking. As you crank the gear, you will move along the chain. However, Harpies and Satyrs will spawn to stop you. The gear will slowly move backwards while you are fighting. The best move here is Cyclone Of Chaos (L1 Square) which will damage all enemies on the small gear. Jump to the second gear and do the same thing, just for a longer period. Quickly dispatch the enemies and continue along the chain. Once both the gears are in place, a giant chain will straighten out, and you can walk along it. It's the longest chain walk I've seen in a God Of War, but it takes about 20 seconds. |

The Power Glove Acquire Gauntlet of Zeus |
![]() |
To get to the Gauntlet, you'll have to go through a puzzle. After getting rid of the Minotaurs in the prison, break open the wall to left and ascend the stair case. There will be a lone archer at the top, so kill him and break open the wall behind him. You will find yourself on a ledge. Sidle across the long ledge to get to the other side. Break through another wall and walk up to the Cryptkeeper's room. Take his key and toss the chair off the balcony. Jump down from the balcony, pick up the body of the Cryptkeeper and place it on the button. A bridge will extend leading to another area. Walk along the bridge and you will find yourself in a small shrine erected to Zeus. Bring down the statue of Zeus and pick up his Gauntlet. |

Horsing Around Awaken all three horses |
![]() |
There are 3 puzzles associated with the horses. For the first one, move both of the statues up to their designated place in the floor. This will allow you to pull out the staircase. Once the staircase is out, roll to the left side and enter the secret passage to the other side. In the new room, jump to the balcony and use the sun shield to reflect light to the target. The second horse is the toughest. Use the light beam and statues to open up the 4 pods with the statues in them. Arrange the statues to raise the center piece, and shine light in the center piece to form a square of light with the statues. Stand in the sun spot and use the Sun Shield to reflect the light on the Horse's statue. The third horse is simple. Move both the statues into place, and jump on to the broken one and reflect the light with the Sun Shield to extend the staircase. Return to the area where the 3 horses are together, and turn the handles to straighten the light beams and set the chariot in |
