Win 50 Scoreboard Matches online

For details, see the boosting method below, #1 in the Hood and The Best I Am (At What I Do).

This boosting method may seem complex at first, but it gets a lot easier once you get used to it.

It works a hell of a lot better if you both have headsets.

One of you is going to be the host, and one of you is going to be the joiner. Decide this now. It doesn't really matter, but if only one of you has a headset, make them be the joiner.

The first stage: Now the joiner needs to find out the host's ping (ping is a number which represents the "lag" between your two consoles - you'd get a tiny ping if you're in the same room, but a huge one if you're playing in the UK and Japan, for example), so the host messages the joiner with a blank message (triangle over that person's ID on your friends list, Create Message, then press Send). Wait one second and create a match. When the joiner gets a blank message from the host, he looks for Scoreboard matches, and picks any one and remembers the ping of the host. This is very important! If the host is your boosting partner, this is the ping you always seek when you try to join games. If this is not the host, try to avoid this ping in the future.

Once you've used this method to find your partner's ping, the host will send the joiner a blank message, wait one second, and create a match. The joiner, when receiving the message, will wait one second, refresh until a match with the right ping (which can vary, but will stay within about 10-20 either way of what you expect), and try and join the match.

Here comes the need for the headset. Host and joiner quickly identify yourself. If you hear it's your partner within 3 seconds, all is good, but if you don't hear anything, quit out within 3 seconds else you'll be forced to go through the long, boring character select screen. If this does happen, taunting your random opponent about how you're going to quit out on them in about 10 seconds is hugely entertaining.

#1 in the Hood
Win 100 Scoreboard Matches online
2.36%
Ultra Rare
You need to win 100 online Scoreboard matches in order to unlock this trophy. This is, without boosting, a very impressive feat, as the MvC2 crowd are a skilled and deadly serious bunch. They will use teams of highest tier characters and destroy you repeatedly. It will seem brutally unfair. I highly recommend you boost this, and all other scoreboard trophies, using the method I describe in the Mega Buster tip, which is where it fitted best.

If you're not boosting, check the Tier List at http://www.shoryuken.com/wiki/index.php/Marvel_vs_Capcom_2 to see who the best characters are (bearing in mind that for 50 of these matches you'll only be able to use one of them), and get good at using them in the single player. Best of luck to you.

I Am Doom
Defeat opponent in under 15 seconds (Multiplayer)
19.13%
Rare
This is easier than it sounds. Go to the Settings menu, and crank up the damage to 4. Launch a local multi player match, and set player 1's handicap to 5, and player 2's handicap to 1. Don't touch player 2's controller throughout this match. With player 1's controller, spam the strongest moves you have (for example, right circle ) and beat player 2 down. If you've done it within 15 seconds, the trophy will pop up. If you can't seem to do it within the time limit, pick a different character to play with. I'd recommend Cable, he's one of the highest tier characters in the game.

Berserker Barrage
Perform a 200 hit Combo (Multiplayer)
15.07%
Rare
Go to your Settings menu and set the time limit to Infinite. Start a local multiplayer match with your two controllers. Have your player 1 team consisting of 3 Cables with the Projectile assist, and player 2's team consisting of 3 Amingos with the Heal assist. Pick up player 2's controller, and hold right and keep spamming circle until the gauge reads Max. Put it down and pick up player 1's controller, and hold left and spam circle until the gauge is at Max. Then press l1 and r1 on player 2's controller. Whilst Amingo's healing animation is going on, press l1 and r1 on player 1's controller, and the 3 Cables will shoot the crap out of the 3 Amingos in mid-air. You should get about 300 hits if done correctly.

Shun Goku Satsu
Perform a 3-part Hyper Combo (Multiplayer)
27.35%
Uncommon
Start a local match with your two controllers. Hold left and hammer circle until your power gauge (the one at the bottom left of the screen) reads Max. Then, perform this combo:

down --> down & right --> right --> down --> down & right --> right --> square & triangle
(Or, if you struggle to read that, 2 quarter circle forwards then square and triangle .)

While that animation is playing, press:
down --> down & right --> right --> square & triangle
(Or, if you struggle to read that, 1 quarter circle forward then square and triangle .)

When that animation is still playing, press:
down --> down & right --> right --> square & triangle
(Or, if you struggle to read that, 1 quarter circle forward then square and triangle .)

This should get you the trophy.

The Best There Is (At What I Do)
Perform 50 One Character Victories within 20 unique teams in Scoreboard Matches
1.22%
Ultra Rare
If you follow the boosting method described in the Mega Buster tip, you should get this trophy whilst you get your 100 wins for #1 in the Hood.

Assists do not count as using another character. Basically the thing to avoid doing is pressing square cross or triangle circle, as that will switch out characters. Don't do that, don't let your first character get defeated, and it'll count as a one character victory.

Get Out Of Here!!!
Perform 10 snapbacks within 20 unique teams in Scoreboard Matches
2.56%
Ultra Rare
To perform a snapback, the button combination is:
down --> down & right --> right & l1 or r1
(Or, if you struggle to read that, 1 quarter circle forward then l1 or r1 )

Each snapback takes up 1 bar of energy at the bottom of the screen. You can do more than one snapback per match. The snapbacks do not count if your opponent dies as a result of you performing them.

I'd recommend you do this using the boosting method discussed in the Mega Buster tip.

Avengers Assemble!
Beat the game with Avengers theme team without continuing or challenges. (Arcade Mode)
14.20%
Rare
To get this trophy, you can use a team consisting of any combination of Captain America, Iron Man, War Machine and The Hulk.

I recommend you play through Arcade mode on Easy, with damage set to 1 and matches set to 30 seconds in the Settings menu. This will make the trophy a lot easier to obtain as I found Easy mode was still quite tough on occasion.

I would recommend Iron Man or War Machine over the other two, as they are a higher character tier. The general strategy of spamming ranged moves (Generally down --> down & right --> right & triangle ) until your power gauge is up to 3, then pressing l1 & r1 . Make sure your opponent is not blocking when you do this. Go in close to them to make them stop blocking, and then unleash. Continue to spam ranged or block for the rest of the match.

Once you get past Stage 7, and face the boss, you don't need to win, only not lose all of your fighters. Block for the entirety of the match and you should see the boss keel over and die. There are three stages to the boss, and once you survive them all, the trophy will unlock.

Vampire Saviors
Beat the game with Vampire Saviours theme team without continuing or challenges. (Arcade Mode)
10.45%
Rare
To get this trophy, you can use a team consisting of any combination of Morgan, Felicia, Anakaris, and B.B. Hood.

I recommend you play through Arcade mode on Easy, with damage set to 1 and matches set to 30 seconds in the Settings menu. This will make the trophy a lot easier to obtain as I still found Easy mode quite tough on occasion.

I would recommend a team of three B.B. Hoods, as even though Anakaris is a higher tier, she's easier to spam ranged ( down --> down & right --> right & triangle ), and she's just bad-ass. I mean a little girl with hella concealed weapons? Avoid Morrigan and Felicia as they're low tier and frankly not really very good. Hold back and hammer circle until your power gauge is up to 3, then pressing l1 & r1 .

Uncanny Hero
Beat the game with X-Men theme team without continuing or challenges. (Arcade Mode)
14.73%
Rare
To get this trophy, you can use a team consisting of any combination of the X-Men characters.

I recommend you play through Arcade mode on Easy, with damage set to 1 and matches set to 30 seconds in the Settings menu. This will make the trophy a lot easier to obtain as I still found Easy mode quite tough on occasion.

I would recommend a team of three Cyclops, as he's a top tier character and his ranged attack is the most spammable in the whole game (you just mash triangle !). The general strategy of spamming ranged moves until your power gage is up to 3, then pressing l1 & r1 .

World Warriors
Beat the game with Street Fighter team without continuing or challenges. (Arcade Mode)
12.90%
Rare
To get this trophy, you can use a team consisting of any combination of the Street Fighter characters (Ken, Ryu, Cammy, M. Bison).

I recommend you play through Arcade mode on Easy, with damage set to 1 and matches set to 30 seconds in the Settings menu. This will make the trophy a lot easier to obtain as I found Easy mode quite tough on occasion.

I would recommend a team of three Ryus, as although he's not that high a tier character, his Hadouken attack is extremely spammable. The general strategy of spamming ranged moves ( down --> down & right --> right & triangle ) until your power gauge is up to 3, then pressing l1 & r1 . Make sure your opponent is not blocking when you do this. Go in close to them to make them stop blocking, and then unleash. Continue to spam ranged or block for the rest of the match.
